The X-RAYted with Captain John Holley at the helm is the boat to charter if you want a first class sportfishing experience while staying in Destin, Florida, renowned for its beautiful sugar white sand beaches, first class accommodations and restaurants, and some of the best fishing in the Continental United States.  A recent edition of Delta Airline's inflight magazine featured Destin, Florida as "the billfishing capital of America."  The X-RAYted specializes in fishing for billfish-blue marlin, white marlin, and sailfish; blackfin and yellowfin tuna; wahoo; dolphin (mahi-mahi), cobia, and king mackerel.

One of two White Marlin 11-year-old Hayley Reynolds tagged and released on her first bill fishing trip.

Group from Georgia with a full board of Cobia, including several bragging rights fish over 50 lbs.

The peak cobia season runs from late March through early May.  The billfish bite begins in mid May and continues through mid-November.  June, September and October are peak months for billfish.  Except for a potential record fish or tournament winning fish, we practice tag and release on billfish.  Wahoo are available from mid May through mid November with peaks May 15 - July 15 and in October. Tuna fishing is best June - August.  Mahi-mahi are from late May through October with the biggest being caught in June.  King mackerel are caught May-November. The X-RAYted has a full compliment of tournament grade tackle, from lightweight spinning gear to 130 lb. class 2 speed reels and matched bent butt trolling rods.

Captain John Holley is one of the most successful sportfishing captains in the Gulf and has numerous marlin, cobia and king mackerel tournament wins to his credit, including four major Cobia tournaments and the Biloxi, MS SKA king mackerel tournament in 2001. He holds several current Destin Fishing Rodeo records and has won the Destin Fishing Rodeo Sportfishing Captain of the Year Award for nine consecutive years.  Captain Holley has been featured in Marlin Magazine, Sportfishing, Florida Game and Fish, Salt Water Sportfishing and Florida Sportsman and all major magazines that cover fishing in the state of Florida.
